Step Outside Your Box Saturday – Rusty Things

I decided to alter a slide mailer for my stepson for his birthday. He enjoys anything Japanese. For this Saturday’s challenge, we are supposed to use rusted stuff, but I have nothing rusted, so I rusted the outside of the slide mailer with Sofisticated Finishes. Then, to keep it from being overly “rusted” in appearance, I dry brushed some pink acrylic paint over it and then stamped some text on it with Cherry Pink StazOn. The Geisha is my first attempt at a gel medium transfer (not bad if I say so myself).
All in all, it was easy to do, just time consuming (waiting for paint/glue to dry).

I love the cover of your slide mailer. It’s very geisha! Your image transfer turned out great. Why didn’t I think of rusting something? Instead, I just set out the challenge.
